I don't think it'll make much difference for the short-term as the season's ended. Depends on whether and when they lift the advice for the start of next year.

It's just gone to 10.8154. Might be worth taking a punt on a few hundred quids worth of TL as a long-term investment. Depends on how much further you think the TL's likely to fall before / if it recovers.

Thanks KKOB...your advice is always helpful. Unfortunately, I still pay fees monthly and have taxes to sort every six months, so always have a few hundred pounds of TL in the Revolut account to cover essentials. Thank heavens I'd paid up my DASK and household insurance, given the Izmir earthquake Fri/Sat. (prayers and best wishes to those affected on both sides of the Aegean sea)

I think I need to have a lie down in a darkened room for a while.   ;) Few people see that side of me.   :)

Good to see the TL making a slight recovery after the resignation of The Boy Blunder.  :)

10.60 this morning.

The new Finance Minister, Lütfi Elvan, isn't the man the markets were hoping to see take over.

Elvan is another Erdoğan loyalist who was appointed as minister of transport, maritime and communication in December 2013 following a corruption scandal that forced a cabinet reshuffle.
