Can any of you longer term Turkey twizzlers tell me if this is the first year that the YTL (or the old TL for that matter) has ever finished at a higher rate of exchange to the pound than it started out at ?

normally year-on-year as a holiday maker the pound has always grown stronger against the lira (last ten years).
This last year or two the lira seems to have stabilised and there is little movement, in fact less lira to the pound than two summers ago...eeek
