We are cosidering the possibility of sinking an artesian well in our garden (Uzumlu)...for obvious reasons, so would like to know if anyone else out there has considered it, or even better, actually sunk one? How much, is it worth it, legal situation, etc. etc.
-
We have one, albeit in Koycegiz (heaven on earth) it cost us 600 Lira to drill down 30 metres, (we have lovely fresh drinking water) that included all pipework, taps etc.
Yes, it is worth it, but don`t pay the "over the top" prices that some people are being quoted.

Hi Crabbit,
Cheers!
Just out of interest I assume that it supplies all your water... washing, shower, pool etc.
Friends of ours are having one drilled (in Uzumlu)later this year so we'll try do a 'bulk' deal and get ours done about the same time.
Many thanks for the cost guide, should be interesting.

Hi, Crabbit do you have name and contact number for your drillers?Calvin
-
Maybe we could do a real 'bulk' deal here and get the entire valley drilled...
-
I paid 900 lira 2 years ago, I don't recall how far they had to go, but they did hit rock on the first attempt! There's one rock under Calis and it's under my garden!
-
That's probably part of the cement factory...

Woollie
It only supplies drinking water & water for the garden, if you want it plumbed into your villa/apartment, you will need a pump and a water metre meaning you will incur water charges, as you do at present, the charges may be a tad lower, but not much.
-
PS.
It does supply water for the pool.

The person that drilled mine is in Koycegiz, Scunner`s is more local to you, so it may be better going with his.

Thanks for the info guys...I'm back out to Uzumlu in September for a couple of months so I'll post my findings/results as and when.
