our first year out in Uzumlu , we are, as well as our neighbours experiencing problems with our electric supply ,electric company say they have no plans to upgrade in the near future, would like to know if other residents are having same problems perhaps complaints in numbers may force action ,Calvin

Someone living at the Old Ostrich Farm area has just handed in a petition of 60 + signatures to Tedas but do not know the result if any. We were in Tedas at the same time so signed whilst there.
They did not seem interested or bothered and I think their answer was if 60 of you pay.....you can guess the rest!
It's a waiting game me thinks..

We have been here 5 years and have got used to having problems with the electricity. I am afraid its one of the downsides of too many houses being built here. Tedas are slowly putting in more transformers but it takes time and a lot of money.Unfortunately,Uzumlu belediye just keep giving the go ahead for more housing estates without sorting out the infrastructure. Its ok for the odd house to be built here and there but up the road from us they are building 64 in one group,34 in another block and another group of 55. They havn't sold 80 percent of the new houses built already.Tedas have told us that they are negotiating with the builders to try and sort out costs for more electricity to be pumped up here. Dont hold your breathe though. It will be the same problem with water in the future. We have been told by one of the council workers that they are already worried about how they will supply all the new builds.Anyone want to buy a house??

The electricity problems are terrible and definitely getting worse. They will continue to get worse with all the houses already in the process of being built and the hundreds more which are planned. Unfortunately the Belediye will never get the builders to pay towards getting the electricity transformers installed but they will continue to grant building permissions. After all the builders or the belediye don't give a damn as long as they all get their money. The same problem applies to the water here in Uzumlu which is now at a critical stage. We go for up to a week at a time sometimes with no water at all.

We found the electric ok this time in Uzumlu, they did a lot of work in 2006 by putting in new transformers and building a new sub station.

Mind you if you go into the Uzumlu Belediye with the same attitude you are writing on here, maybe that is why they don't give a dam, we have always found them very helpful when we go in and pay our water bill or whatever, even to the point of them ringing our builder and getting him to come into the office to sort out the water payment he still owned from building our property so we could get the bill all cleared, had a good laugh with them as well as a cup of tea about it all.

The thing to remember is that the builders, belediye and locals all know each other, be polite and you can get help in most things, but remember they are not god and cannot work Miracles, just calm down and you will live longer.
