Beko and Prices
« on: October 19, 2007, 08:13:41 AM »
Sorry everyone for this boring post ;)

How do the prices of Beko products compare to the UK?
I will be kitting out the house next week and want to be sure I'll be getting good prices.

Don't fall into the trap of comparing Turkish prices to UK ones. Compare Turkish prices locally.

I think that Beko in the UK is a cheap range however in Turkey it is quite expensive. Do as KKOB says and compare the product with a like for like in Turkey.

Beko, Arcelik and Vestel are all made in China but the service network here is very good.

You can also get Ariston, Bosch, Indesit , Siemens, Samsung and various other well known makes but you have to be sure that the supplier has service backup locally.

you will also find that a three year guarantee is included in the price, unlike in the UK.

I bought a lot of furniture from Beko opposite the renault garage, one item being a desktop computer, cos they said it was a better backup service, fair enough, something isn't right, phoned Aykut, the manager, and what was his answer? WE ONLY SELL THEM, good backup or what. Alan

Yep, we claimed on our Arcelik washing machine just one week before the 3 year guarantee was up. No problem at all.

Slightly off topic but concerning guarantees in Turkey. I have just had occasion to take my Seiko watch back as it had developed a fault after 22 months. The English version of the guarantee quotes "12 months etc" so I expect to pay to have it repaired. "No Sir....in Turkey the guarantee is 24 months" So it was returned to Seiko.....repaired, cleaned, new battery, new seals, and pressure tested....NO Charge! It is not rocket science to work out where you get the best deal and it was a little cheaper to buy here as well. :)
