If I ever had to explain Brits abroad to someone using just one thread, this would have to be it.

The best and the worst all in one place  :)

Scunner, I could not agree with you more..........

.....Us Brits valliantly 'fighting on the beaches' and those pesky Turks trying to destroy us from their hillside vantage point.

The best and worst indeed.

Chris, once again you brilliantly miss the point completely.  If you were doing the fighting and the Turks were just sitting around I would agree with you.  But it is the exact opposite 8)

Mr Tippet, I hope you don't mind my asking, but why ever did you buy a place in Turkey? I may be wrong, and forgive me if I am, but I have yet to read a good word for the local people in any of your posts. "Pesky Turks" indeed, have they not made you welcome in their country and community? I have yet to meet a Turk with the same disposition as yourself, it is quite clear, I think, that you are not on their side, and, from your postings, it would seem you are not always on your own countrymans side either!!!
I just find it rather strange that you would wish to live in someone elses country but not wish to become a part of it.

Well said Carlan, but I think you may have a long wait for an answer from our beloved Mr Tippett. I asked a couple of direct questions to him in a post on 14/10/07 on the cement factory protest page, as of yet I have no answers. Never mind though, if this project does get stopped I'm sure Mr Tippett will be well please when he sees the vaue of his beloved property start to increase after all he does seem to be tottaly driven by cash. Why not try buying a place in Bulgaria, I'm sure you could make more money there and leave the "pesky Turks" you obviously despise so much at peace.
