I have been asked by the organisers, Kevin & Morag, of the Uzumlu quiz, to let folks know what some of the money raised by the quiz has gone towards.
Last year they took some of the local children from the school who needed new shoes on a shopping trip and had over 40 very happy children running about in lovely shoes of their choice.
In June this year they paid over 900 ytl to the school to cover the costs of the new basket ball/volleyball court (you can see it from the road).
They are now nearly at their target of just over 2000ytl to supply each child in the school with a school sweatshirt.
They have also had donations of computers and satellite TV equipment by individual members of the quiz which have been given to the school.
Their thanks to everyone who has participated in the quiz and they hope a lot more of you will join in the quiz in future.
At only 1 ytl each its great to know its helping the children in Uzumlu.

I would like to add a big thank you to them both for a great BBQ last night, food was fabulous and as usual the quiz was fun.
