Good Paint Shop Needed
« on: August 18, 2008, 18:52:23 PM »
Hi all, coming out to the villa for the first time and my father in law says i need to paint my ironwork as its peeling. I hate painting at the best of times, let alone when it's 40 degrees-anywho, I'd like to paint it with Hammerite cos I know if I do, I won't be painting it again for another 5 years! Does anyone know where I can get a tin of the sticky black stuff:D

Thanks Jinky. Someone has just told me on the Fethiye forum that the Turkish brand is called Polymetal and can be bought at B&Q-just in case anyone ever needs to know

If you want Hammerite, bring it over with you.
The Turkish equivalent is ok, but not in the same league as the original

Hammerite is overated in the UK, it does not do the trick, ordinary undercoat and gloss is far superior. have you ever seen refinery pipework painted in Hammerite, or storage tanks ?????

you can get genuine Hammerite in the B&Q/Yapi Market in Fethiye next to the Citroen Garage. It is downstairs on a separate stand.  Only black or white when I bought some last year.

As everyone is so helpful-how do I attach a picture to my profile? Any techies (or people with far too much time on their hands) out there who could help?
