When the road from Ovacik to Fethiye is reopened it should take you about 40 minutes to drive to Uzumlu. The road from Fethiye to the village is probably one of the best constructed in this area. Pretty too.

Uzumlu means "with grapes" so I'd expect there to be lots of vines there.

A few pics from when we visited in June. I understand Uzumlu is built on a Plain and is just below the snow line although it is cooler in the winter. I am also told that the dreaded mozzies are few and far between but I did notice a hell of a lot of flies there when we visited - lots of forest close by. If you get to the Dolmus station in Fethiye you can catch one directly to Uzumlu. It took us about 20 mins to get there from Fethiye.

Grapes?

get the name right it is Yeşil Üzümlü, it reverted to its original name about three years ago. it appears that it is getting the same as Ovacik, glad I moved to another village. I know so are you, but I came to Turkey to BE in Turkey not little England. ausgal

Well it didn't look much like "little England" in June. We were the only Brits sat in the cafe in the market square and it seemed very Turkish to us. However I could see that there are lots of villas being built away from the village centre. I just hope they don't spoil it by allowing too many.

hello all,, i think üzümlü is the best place for investment and also for living,, the nature is still virgin not like hisaronu, calis, ovacik at all.. if you have a car you are just 15 minutes away from beach, supermarkets, big hospital etc.. i really love there and having built a villa nearly cadianda road cross.. if you raelly like uzumlu you shouldnt hesitate to invest your money i dont think you will regret..

I'm locking this as it seems to have run it's course.

Cute boy - no need to repeat your post on every Uzumlu thread.
