Rooney signs new contract with Man Utd  till 2019, wages £300,000 per week + bonuses,
and says he never had any intention of leaving United???  ;)
    Nice one wayne  :)

He said that last time he signed a contract, after another sulky period with the club and Fergie.  I know it is the modern game and market rates etc. but those wages are, as my old man used to say, an insult to the working man .. particularly to those paying sky high ticket prices.

I suppose the next question is, relatively speaking, is he worth it?  The jury is out on that for me, but I do not think he is worth more than Messi, or even closer to home RVP ..... and I know it is not related to club, but I'll be even more convinced if he puts in a good shift (another work analogy!) for England in Brazil.

And look what it's doing to the Granny prices.

I don't think any football player is worth £43,000 per day.  Even if he is from Liverpool.  ;)
Just what is going to happen now?  how many other players will say, as Rooney has, he is not happy, but another £60,000 per week will clinch it and they will be happy?   In the end, it will be the supports who will be paying more to watch games in an ever increasing spriral of costs in football.  Football will be the looser as the smaller clubs will be squeezed out in the effort of the big clubs (who have the money and billionaire owners)to pay ever increasing wage demands. :(

I think he could have named his price, this is more about showing the footballing world they are still a top club with the power to keep and attract top players, even though they are having a rough patch.

Seems a very strange way of reducing the club's debts.

I personally wouldn't want him at Arsenal, I would rather have kept RVP, and signed the Liverpool Striker Suarez, he seems to have more Bite for the game,  ;)  :)

Well they've almost completed the Man Utd quadruple this evening - out of the FA Cup / League Cup / Premiership / and now Champions League!

What on earth are: Cleverly / Smalling / Young / Ferdinand / Valencia wearing those red shirts for????

But the Greeks were actually the better side - how can that be - I really, really don't understand what is going on anymore - beyond me.......

Even £300k per week looked poor and so many poor first time passes - they would have struggled to beat Berwick Rangers!

I'd give Roy Keane a game, he's got more passion than any of the current squad.

There is no doubt that the Fergie Factor motivated the team.   They are lost without him.

Must agree with Jacqui,  :o ??? ,as a long time follower of Man. Utd, I personally felt it painful to watch what was no more than a total debacle tonight. I have always said that it is not the Manager/coach who is actually playing, but David Moyes must be totally lacking in transmittable confidence toward his squad !!

Problem could be solved instantly, Give them all £300,000 a week like Shrek, and they will play their hearts out.  ;)  :)

I suppose the likes of V.P. will be a little annoyed that Rooney will be getting this sort of money every week, when he, V.P. was brought to M.U as the Star attraction last year.  I bet he wishes he had stayed at Arsenal after last night's dire performance by his team.

Rooney's great goal last week may have been worth £300.000 but he needs help from his team mates or more importantly, some new team mates

Yes, it warms the cockles of my heart that the one good player for M.U. who is adored by the supports is from Liverpool..
