Does anyone know the difference between 'canim and askim' or do they both mean my darling? Would it be appropriate for instance to call one's sister Askim? or is that only really used for couples?

Canim literally means My Life and is used affectionately like sweetheart
Askim means my love and Sevgilim is my darling. There are some grey areas in usage here.

"Sevgilim" would probably be reserved for couples, "askim" could be used for families, "canim" is more of a "my dear" and can be used more freely without misinterpretation.
My wife will often use "askim" when speaking to her sisters or mother.

Thanks all, that's cleared that one up then. I like to be careful not to make too many mistakes!
