I have twice met up with Engin of Fethiye Property Services, and although I am probably more disappointed than most in work carried out in Turkey I have to say his standard is superb. He adopts a very professional attitude to his work and doesn't mess about with ridiculously high prices that you are expected to barter over for ages until it comes down to something approaching reasonable. You get a price and that is what it will be if you take his company on.
He knows his business and for once you can rely on someone to turn up when he says he will, do a professional job, clean up afterwards and charge you what he said he would...
FPS now advertise on CBF and I'm pleased that we have a reliable company for roofs, pools, metalwork, painting, etc etc working with us.

Engin and his workers have been working at our apartment this week. We have had a wall knocked through and our balcony double glazed due to the amount of water pouring off the offshoot roof every Winter. The end result is fantastic. They did a great job. Punctual, profesional and they used dust sheets and cleaned up everyday after themselves. He kept us informed every day on times etc. (not Turkish times. It was an excellent price and we are very happy with it. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him. He did a building project for my friend next door and she also was very happy.

What more can I say about this brilliant tradesman. Today I rang him to ask him to have a look at the tiles on my roof as I had a small leak. Fifteen minutes later he is at my door with spare tiles in his hand and replaces some broken ones(probably caused by a neigbour stomping across my roof to fix his TV aerial) His exorbitant bill for parts and about half an hours labour................He refused to accept a single Lira he was just "Happy to help" He is a star and anyone on this Forum who goes elsewhere for inferior, overpriced work must be crazy![^] :)

Well what can you say Brian...just amazing but sometimes it does not surprise, there are some really lovely genuine Turkish People over there....Imagine that in the UK, would probably result in a suggestion that you needed a new roof!!!!!
I am sure it was an Engin that fitted our Kitchen some 7 years ago, never had a problem with it, really good workmanship, I suppose he would be about early 30s now if it was the same, very good looking as I recall???.:D

I have just had some more work done by Engin for which he gave me a fully itemized quote and which I accepted. Now the work has been completed he has revised his quote.........
DOWNWARDS!!!!!! It worked out less expensive than he had estimated. How is that for a very honest tradesman and a B****y good one as well.

Not denying he is good, it didn't work for us as he was so busy. The wife had to come to Doha so there was a schedule.
When we asked about it then it was apparent he had our place mixed up with another, and then it was to late.
I will be giving him a try again in May.

engin has just done a new roof for us, put in a bath,made an iron grape vine arch and re grouted our swimming pool all excelent jobs and can also laugh and be patient with me when i question everything :D great guy and great workmanship :)

Superb references, just contacted him to ask him price up a painting job for me. I will also take the opportunity to meet with him when next out to discuss looking after our place for us.

Thanks for these posts. We've been informed recently by our site's maintenance company that we have a bit of damp by one of the windows in the apartment. Despite replying and asking their advice as to what needs doing, we have heard no more. We're not out until April now but are left wondering if it's a leak or something more and don't like to think that a small problem now could be much worse if left. I think I'll approach Engin to see if his company would go out, have a look and give us a price. I would never approach a company without these recommendations so this post has come at a very good time for us. Thanks all.

Thank goodness for the Forum where I read these recommendations for Engin at Fethiye Property Services. I was able to contact him and he has just drained and redone my garden which had been flooded since October and was a stinking quagmire of slime mud frogs etc.
This time I wanted a proper building company with the right expertise to do the work.
I had plenty of offers from others to do the work at half the price but I wanted a guaranteed good job and that is certainly what I got with Engin. Using a lazer light to make sure of correct levels and using all the best materials. Three men working from 8am until dark every day for a week have completed a lovely garden for me at a reasonable price. They even included many finishing touches which I was not charged for.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Engin for any building or maintenance work. My only worry is that he is in such demand that he is working too hard.

Well we've had a response from the maintenance co about the damp now and it turns out it isn't damp, just a leaky window, so we can sort that when we get there. I still emailed Fethiye Property Services in any case though about some changes we want to our bathroom and kitchen and I got a very quick response back by email. They've asked us to phone them when we're in Ovacik and then they'll meet us at our apartment so that they can have a look and give us a quote. Thanks for pointing us in this company's direction folks. Can't wait to get to our little bolthole in the Turkish sun :)

New to Uzumlu, property has had a couple of hiccups, exacerbated by the people sent to repair the problem by the company. In despair at cost and problem not resolved I used the forum and found Engins number.
Phew what a life saver, leaking has now stopped (previous workmen had not replaced tap washers ???) and he was very very helpful. Good English and cleaned the mess up after. Will definitely use him again

We've just come back from 10 days in Ovacik and we are delighted with the work from Engin and his team. We contacted him before we went out and then called him when we arrived and he came out and gave us a price and also some options to think about. Once we had decided, just a few days later he called us to ask if they could do the work that evening - we were amazed as it was a Saturday, and we had been thinking we wouldn't get the work done until September as we were travelling home on the Tuesday!
The finished result in both our kitchen and bathroom is excellent and has made a big difference to our apartment. We really hadn't expected that we would get the quotes and then the work done so quickly. There was a team of 3 doing the work. They worked really hard and anything that went wrong was put right with absolutely no fuss. Engin also came out to check everything afterwards. We got a lot of history on the Fethiye area from Engin, who gave us so much other useful info too. There was a little mishap at the beginning of the job, which sounded worse than it was (I was sitting by the pool and heard an almighty crash) but it only resulted in the breaking of a couple of beer glasses. We were so happy with the work done and told Engin not to worry about the glasses but he felt so bad that he insisted on coming out to see us and brought us a bottle of wine and a whole new set of glasses and water jug, even though I tried to tell him that there was no need.
We can't recommend him and his team highly enough and it's so good to know that if we need any work doing we can call on him now. His prices were very fair, especially as there were three men working in our apartment, and he gave us all the options and thought of things we hadn't, before he went ahead with the work.

If anyone is thinking of having any work done, I can also reccomend Engin at Fethiye Property Services. He has just completed a couple of jobs for us (extending patio/laying new tiles & regrouting the swimming pool) and we are very pleased with everything he has done.
He didn't put us under pressure to accept his quote and even suggested we get other quotes before we made our decision ! Would definitely use him again.

Fethiye Property Services came to my rescue again. Due to mains waterpipe burst the whole of my ground floor was ruined. Is there nothing Engin can't organise. The repair and decoration of the walls and a beautiful new kitchen designed and fitted by him and his workman, the electrics, purchase of fridge freezer, the standard of the work and the time that they did it was fantastic. The price was also very reasonable. I thoroughly recommend Engin and Fethiye property services for anything you need done.

Engin from FPS did a number of pieces of work for me in 2010 including the external painting of the Villa using quality paint, which included resealing all windows with quality sealant and filling in cracks. I have had the garden path widened, additional lights put in the garden, pool regrouted and new wrought iron put around the downstairs terrace etc etc. Even though he did not get the wrought iron correct on the terrace, I have every confidence he will have this put right. He has done an excellent job all round, he is conscientious and professional in his dealings. He also provides garden and pool maintenance on my place.
I have no hesitance in recommending him.

Fethiye property services just completed some work for me.
Roof repairs,gutter replacement and a large extension to pool terrace area.
Dealt with Engin and Mehmet and their work was excellent,the price reasonable and
I was offered the option of a cheap,medium or top quality tiles and materials.
He gave good information and worked to a very high standard.I will definately
let him quote for other work.

We also had work done with Engin from FPS, he and his team have been terrific,we found him through CB and we are so pleased we read the right ups on FPS. Engin came to give us a quote for the job and turned up with his workers, taking measurements and drawing diagrams. They moved the kitchen, took down a wall and blocked up another, Mehmet is a great worker and we are so so pleased with the jobs they have done for us. They have since done quite few other jobs including putting a very long path in our garden. We would not hesitate in recommending Engin and his team and as said on here before. At the end of this we also have a kitchen/diner that is level/straight and lovely to work in. Thank you Engin great job.

Decided to use Fethiye Property Services after the great recommendations on here.
We had an unsightly boiler on the wall at the back of a dining room that needed boxed in and covered up. Not only did Engin cover the boiler, but made a lovely unit with shelves to match the existing dining room furniture. We also asked for two electric points and a T.V point.
Engin and his team are very fast, efficient and do a first class job at a very reasonable price.
I would not hesitate to recommend him and will definitely use him again in the future.

Engin from Fethiye Property services did a bit more work to our apartment last year, adapted our windows and changed them so that they all tilt in to let air in as well as opening out and fitted mozzie nets - all done quickly and at a reasonable cost. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. I used Fethiye Property Services after reading recommendations on CBF, so thank you to CBF members for posting about him.

As one of the most vocal fans of Fethiye Property Services (I actually started this "highly recommended" topic!!!) I was most unimpressed that after asking Engin for a price for some work on the 20th (via the forum) I heard nothing for three days. I assumed maybe his CBF email address is an old one so made contact via their website on the 23rd, receiving a reply soon after. The reply said they would look at the job the next day (24th) and let me know straight afterwards. A week later, and 3 emails asking what is going on being totally ignored, I have given up with them.

Now go back a couple of years and I said exactly the same.
In fact the property they visited and said I wasn't in, was not mine.

I must say this forum is very good - Engin and I have spoken and I have more than accepted his reasons for not being able to contact me earlier. He's very charming - as things stand, he's got the job :)

Reading comments about Ergin on the Forum, I asked him to come round to our newly obtained villa last week. We didn't get the Tapu until Friday and were leaving on Sunday. He came round on Saturday at short notice and within a few hours had fetched an alarm man, a carpenter and locksmith. He came back again at 9pm to sort out what we wanted done and offered useful suggestions, so very happy. Even got the carpenter back later in the evening with some samples!
I suspect, though, that his success may make him difficult to pin down at times and I have to say that he hasn't responded to my emails since I got back to the UK.

Engin contacted me to say he had had Internet problems, so this has been why he didn't get back to me...
I'm sure I am going to find him as great as everyone on the Forum says...!

Bit late with this,just before Christmas 2011 our pressure hot water tank blew.This had been installed by FPS and his team we thought about 2 1/2 years previously.
Called Engin,he agreed to replace the tank under guarantee,without charge, only afterwards did he say that according to his records the tank had been fitted over three years,he felt that although there was a three year guarantee it should really last a lot longer,What an honest trader!!
Again what else can we do but recommend him and his workforce.

He called us yesterday, unfortunately we'd been waiting for a start date for a job and I needed to sort it before going back to UK but as we hadn't heard from him arranged someone else.
Anyway, hes definitely around, try phoning him.

Hi after reading all the good post on CBF we gave him the job to build walls and steps also to replace tiles around the pool. I must say could not be more happier with FPS and Engin and his team. I would say it is the best workmanship that I have ever seen in Turkey.
Engin is due back to me on Monday morn so if anyone wants me to give him a message let me know but he is defo on his old phone number.

Engin is a very busy person so it seems
He as just completed repairing our communial pool
and he is now in the process of re-painting the complex
Always does a first class job ...but...just hard to get hold of sometimes ;)

After reading all the good reports on Engin we are having him to do our patio.He gave us a written quote and have to say it was all done and costed very professional, everything itemised and at proper prices not rip off. He is starting work tomorrow morning :)Hopefully it will be good to have found a good and honest workman.

I have spoken with Engin today and he has asked me to let everyone know he is still very much around and busy but is having to take time off the computer due to needing medication for his hands - typing is extremely painful for him at the moment. He has said that people needing him are very welcome to email their number to him and he will call you, even if you are in the UK.
Hopefully after his course of medication he will be typing away again soon. He is still sorting out all his work and supervising everything.

It sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome ...very painful.
I am sure Engin will continue to ensure that his work will be carried out to a high standard.
We have experienced bad workmanship from others in the past

He must be *very* busy because he hasn't bothered to come back with a quote for work that was requested on the 9th April.
Despite all the glowing testimonials I'm afraid that sore hands or no sore hands it isn't really good enough and it looks like we'll end up using someone else.

Managed to get in touch with Engin.
I'll give him his due, once we'd sorted out the communication issue he got cracking on with the work and at a good price as well. House painted inside and out together with a number of joinery and electrical jobs in under a week, all for.... well, you'll have to ask him the price.
He's now doing maintenance for two properties of ours, plus we recommended him to a friend with four properties who I believe is also now a happy bunny.

Have recently had some work carried out by Engin on our apartment and just wanted to say what an excellent job it is, we are very pleased! Before the job we received a detailed quote which we felt was excellent value for money, and when the job was complete the overall cost came in slightly less than the quote! Engin is not just a good tradesman but also a really nice man. He is doing some more work for us for September and we would have no hesitation recommending him to others.

Sadly our experience hasn't been so fantastic. He came over on Monday to look at a villa with us to tell us how much the work needed would cost. He said he'd email us the quote on Tuesday. No sign of it. We're going home tomorrow and in spite of saying on the phone twice that he'd do it immediately and also telling us today that he'd already sent it and he'd check and call us right back there's still no email and no returned phone call. We off back to England not knowing whether to buy the villa and therefore not having met with our solicitor to discuss matters. Shame.

I know how you feel. A month on and we never did get our quote in spite of numerous emails and calls to chase it. We've given up now and made an offer on another property. If he's that unreliable on a quote we'd never want to actually give him the work!!

First of all; Fethiye Municipality has been working on canalization; electricity; phone lines and road maintenance in the area where my office is; because of that; I might not have either ADSL, electric or phone line. British home owners around my office are also not happy with this.

I have sent your quote twice as well, however I did not receive your 2nd e-mail. I wish you would send an e-mail to Joan and she would call me. My house is quite close to your apartment, Joan knows about this because we are in the same apartment with his husband’s parents.
Meanwhile; the web hosting company has changed the IP address of my web site without any notice and I still have problems with e-mails and some parts of my web site do not work. Just because of this I have lost 3 big jobs this week since I could not end the deals-conversations with the clients.

Engin we're sorry to hear of your problems too and we wouldn't want to ruin your reputation for the sake of a few lost emails so I'll assume it's true. I am a bit confused though that, even after we'd phoned several times and the emails clearly weren't getting through, you couldn't have told us the quote on the phone. Maybe not while you were up Babadag but when you got back? Might be a good policy in the future perhaps.

Just to add - when we were over the other week one of our neighbours came to ask if we could help as they had a leak. I gave the Engin's number and he was round to see them the next morning.

We know Engin has had some medical problems lately, but he has always been a great help to us. When our daughter, son in law and granddaughter where over and locked themselves out, Engin was there within 15 minutes with a locksmith to get them back in.
We look on Engin as a friend now and can recommend him and his services.

Engin has done work for us in the past and we were with him yesterday organising some more work to be done.Would reccommend him to anyone.Out of all the workmen we have ever used he is without doubt the most reliable and the workmen he uses are excelent.

Engin is very popular because he does great work and it seems that people do have trouble contacting him by email because he is so busy all the time. He may be slow at answering emails, but I have never ever seen anyone complain about the work he does.
It's a case of if you want great work at really good prices you need find him and it's always quicker on Facebook. I have often gone there and he is on line so it's easy to have a live conversation with him, much better than waiting for an email.
I wonder Patrice, have you tried to email him? or are you just asking members to tell him to email you??

We had him round for an estimate. He knows where we stay. He knows our phone number. He knows our email address. We got in touch with him through reading this forum about his good workmanship. Yes he probably is good but don't think I will ever get the chance to find out just how good he is. All very well and good recommending him but pointless really.

And I have answered all of your emails only the last one i did not. I thought it is not urgent because the subject on the mail was the problem which I have been mentioning from 2 years but nobody has listened to me !!!!!!!
Before you write it here, why do not you ask how Engin’s health is or any problems in his life first not to answer your e-mail on time?
I am having really bad days.
From last year I have carpal tunnel syndrome on my both wrist ( You and most of my customers know this).
When I started to say beginning of March my wrist will be good soon (everyday I am taking pills) because I have less pain at the moment, I had a shock two days ago. I had a really bad backache, I have visited to doctor and after some scans he told me I have “ hernia of the loins ” ( I do not know exact meaning of the illness. This is what I get from dictionary). He highly recommends me to lie most of the time during the day around one week but I have only 5 hours sleep last 2 days!!
Why?
To do works for my customers !!!
To do my promises on time !!!
But what I have learn in last 5 years time is, when you run a business, people things you are a engine. Put some oil and press start button and run as much as you can.
I am sorry, but I am a human as well. I may have health problems like everybody.
I think this explanation will help you to understand me. Your e-mail will be answered tomorrow.

But to be fair Engin she's not the only one who has problems getting in touch with you. We did too. Never did get that quote from you last August. We don't expect you to be an engine but we can't automatically know about your problems.

Engin has always done great work for me and I highly sing his praises.
I am very sorry to read that he has health problems and sincerely hope he recovers soon but meanwhile have a good rest and delegate your work I am sure your regular customers will understand.

Firstly I would like to point out Engin that if you read this thread I have on two occasions given praise to your workmanship and recommendations and I will continue to do so.
It is fair to say that since you took over the maintenance of our complex we have received good feedback from owners of the improvements you have made .
My last two posts..... I only asked if any member could pass on a message for you to respond to my emails.
I also pointed out that you are running a business and a reply is of good practice regardless of your personal issues and lets be honest will all have them.
If I have caused you grief I am sorry but I did not expect you to be so defensive and demonstrate such anger :o
