Title: Avalon Steppes - Glamping
Post by: Rimms on May 22, 2015, 15:04:07 PM
We've just returned from our second stay this year at Avalon Steppes in Kayakoy. It's the site just on the left as you head out of the village towards Gemiler. You can't miss it as there are four big Yurts erected around their swimming pool.

It's really a lovely place to stay, they have a great onsite restaurant which is open to both resident and non resident guests. The yurts are just brilliant, they are individually themed, Yildiz and Topkapi Palace along with Kensington and Buckingham palace. Each one is immaculate, has private bathroom and shower along with air conditioning and refrigerator.

The hosts are wonderful and really make you feel welcome. It's a very different and special experience, I would recommend you give it a try, you can check them out on trip advisor.

I have not stayed there, but went for breakfast a few weeks ago. Definetly worth trying if you like a Turkish style breakfast. It's right up there with the quality as presented/provided out at Kargi, but with their own personal style of dishes and touches. From memory, I think it was 20tl per head.

Just returned from a 2 night stay there. I would say that this is right up there with our favourite Turkish experiences. Beautiful yurts every need catered for. Lovely en suite, big comfortable beds. Lovely pool, camp fire lit at night where we sat with other "campers" and the hosts' families. Food to die for. Will certainly return. We put everything on the tab and when we got the final invoice, had to query it because we thought they had left things off! Excellent value and Murat, Charlotte and Reggie, their baby boy, made us feel very welcome. Would absolutely recommend 100 per cent. ;D

Must admit I've had a look on their website and it looks amazing.  Good to know it's as good as it looks.

Will put this on the 'to do' list sometime.

No cannot talk Phil into it at all. He does not see any attraction in Glamping... I would not mind giving it a try though.

Sounds like me trying to talk my OH into a cruise Jacqui - not interested at all even though I'd like to give it a try.

Think he'd like this though, especially the setting, it looks fabulous.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it.  Most people I know who've done a cruise say when you've done one, you're hooked.  It's just getting a certain someone on that first one!   : :)  ;)

He is admant he does not want to sleep in a tent in a field, he sees no point in it.  If we see you again before we leave (athough you and Chris may have go to ground to sample that large bottle you got at the Auction  :)   )
you can try talkng him into it.   :)

We staayed here for 3 nights while we were in the area a couple of weeks ago, and to be honest Jacquie you actually forgot you were in a yurt when inside it as its better than a hotel room, its a fabulous place, and as said the owners make you feel so welcome, they make you feel like you are part of there family.

We had a fab stay there, and will certainly be viaiting them again.
