I wonder if it is possible to rent a home for longer periods out of season, f.i. May and June, Sept. and October at affordable rent.
We like to be in the neighborhood of a centre where we can shop, have a drink from time to time. But we also want our privacy to withdraw from the crowd.
That’s why I wonder if it is possible to rent an apartment/bungalow on or nearby a complex. We would like to have the advantage or possibility to have 1 meal a day in a hotel. Perhaps we can make an arrangement.
We would like a 2-bedroom apartment with large terrace and good swimming pool, walking distance of the sea and there should be housekeeping, hospital nearby.
At the moment we own a house but have to spend too much time at the maintenance of the house.
At the moment I am looking in the Fethiye region and all advice is welcome. I think Calis beach. Hisaronu, I think, might be a bit fresh the evening.
We don’t like living in the mountains.
Still, all I know from Fethiye is from searching online. We plan to visit in May.
I know I have lots of demands but I’m chasing my dream. Hope anyone can help me.

I won't say that May and June and September and October are out of season
"At the moment we own a house but have to spend too much time at the maintenance of the house."
I don't understand what that means, sorry.
-
That's right, all the months you mention are all in season dates so would probably be offered at holiday let rate.
Surely if you rent, the house you own will still need maintaining?

I suspect they own a property elsewhere in Turkey, not Fethiye area and they're thinking of selling up and moving to the areas they mentioned.

Hello
thanks for the replies.
Well we own a house at the seaside on the ground flour and when we go back on holiday, each year we have trouble with moisture and mold damage.
Last year we spent a lot of time on this and had to repaint. The problem is, when we are not there we cannot air the place.
It's a beautiful place, but the season there starts in June till September. In the other months its too quite there. Most people who have a holiday home are Turkish and if school starts they go back to their permanent homes.

Ever thought of getting someone to air your home every week ?

Many Turkish families leave their bathroom windows open (and all internal doors). Maybe with some security bars added. Could that help? Seems a shame to sell a place you obviously love very much.

We had our maintenance company put vents under each of our windows. They helped no end with the moisture and was cheap as chips to do,
Perhaps something for you to think of before selling up.
-
That sounds like a good idea Anne we have a problem in our spare bedroom and need to address it this season could you tell me please who fitted your vents for you?
Thank you :)

Our handyman did it Karennina.
We bought the vents, (small ones) on Gunlukbasi Road. They were only a couple of lira each, a bit of mozzi netting to stuff the hole and place the vents on either side.
The hubster could have done it to be honest but his excuse - I am on holiday

Thank you for the info Anne i will maybe see if our maintenance co could do it or simiar thing, ha I will prob get the same reaction if I put it to my hubby to do it! 8)
