and guess what in the words on the t mobile chap"turkey is one of the dearest places to phone"

so not only are the airlines hitting us.so are the phone companies.

buy a turkish sim card and put it into your phone as soon as you arrive.  Take it out again on leaving etc.

It is best to have a Turkcell phone in Turkey and when phoning a UK landline number it is very cheap.

You, like us, must own an old phone sitting in a drawer at home.  We took it out with us, bought a sim (which costs 11YTL to top up) and have left the phone there.
Whenever anyone uses our apartment, they can use the phone (topping it up as they require).

It's a lot, lot cheaper.

Marcus
You need a phone that has been unlocked so it will work on any network, but then you can put a turkcell card in and calls are cheap out - but its still expensive for the person phoning from the uk - unless you use one of the access dial codes - covered on other threads. If you have an old phone unlocking is pretty cheap and can be done in uk or turkey

Brummy Boy, There's lots of shops in Fethiye that will do it for you I paid 20Tl in May this year. You may want to have a look at this site which might save you some money. I was aware of it but couldn't be bothered. It was easier (for me) to pay the money and get the job done so I could start saving money straight away. TT  8)
