Calis is not like Blackpool, you need Bodrum or Marmaris for that.   If you have not been before, give it a try first.
In Calis/Fethiye you can be as Traditional as you want to be.  Might be nice to stay at Tlos but it depends what you want from a holiday, if you want quiet peaceful 40 minutes ride from shops, bars, clubs and restaurants you must book it.

Villa Rhapsody in Kaya might be an option.

In Ovacik there are small family hotels and the area has lots of pine forests more than a beach. The hotels have pools and you can easily catch a dolmus to Calis. There are the Gunes,Gorkem and Gockem as well as other small hotels owned by the Turkish families in the area. Olu Deniz is also easy to reach for the beach. If anyone is disabled and has a wheelchair in your party there is the Halcyon Days hotel which has bathrooms and facilities for wheelchair users.

Is that a traditional service they offer? :D

Glad to hear it Rob - although you will experience the hotel long before I do, it's on the "to do" list.

Oh!(-

Ive decided the mountain lodge is not right for our child so i want something a little nearer to Calis and preferably an apartment with a pool. Any more suggestions please?

Thanks Rob.
