Grand Vizon Review

This may be of interest to those who maybe looking at staying there.

General:
Budget Hotel so you will get what you pay for.

Location:
That the very end of the prom 100m up on the right. Very handy for Guvens :)/no late night bars closeby so quiet.

Guest List:
Mixture of mostly German, British and Turkish guests when we were there. (Not forgetting a fine young American of course)

Staff:
Generally very pleasant. Not many fluent in English (that's not a criticism, it only served to highlight our shocking lack of Turkish)

Reception:
Open 24 hours and is very clean and bright. Quiet area with tables and chairs and a pool table on First Floor above together with Toilets.

Restaurant:
Small internal restaurant area, most tables outside around the pool. Tables, chairs, sun loungers all need replacing. Only saw this area being thoroughly hosed down once whilst we were there.

Pool:
Needs re-grouting etc. Cleaned every day but area around pool didn't look as though it had been brushed for a month - not good at all. Nice shaded garden areas around pool

Bedroom:
Decent size with small balcony. Storage space limited. Only one socket in room.
Mini fridge provide (more of a cabinet rather than fridge truth be told).

(If booking through Travel Republic, two prices are quoted for a Twin Room. I assume the difference is for a balcony with a pool view).

Bathroom:
Fittings (toilet roll holder etc.) not properly fixed to the wall.
Bath with shower over. Shower looked to be very poor but turned out to have fantastic power with lashings of hot water. Plastic wash hand basin/vanity unit stained and not firmly fixed.
Hair drier provided.

Both bedroom and bathroom poorly lit.

Cleaning:
Room cleaned every day and fresh linen provided.

Food:
Open buffet Turkish breakfast only available in the morning (except omelette at additional charge)
Open buffet evening meal which we didn't sample.

Extras:
Air conditioning is extra to price quoted on Travel Republic, as is the safe.

Bar Prices:
Very reasonable

Difficult question Kathryn - "you get what you pay for", "each to their own", etc. etc.

Very poor condition of the pool area was the biggest off-putting aspect.

And, to be honest we prefer to stay where there are plenty of UK guests.

We also now prefer to stay in apartments rather than hotels.

So on balance, probably no.
