Thinking ahead to my next holiday in Turkey I decided to buy a cheap watch - those genuine designer fakes in the Turkish tourist markets have gotten far too expensive. So I picked on the cheapest on offer at Amazon: £12.36 incl. P&P. Imagine my horror when Daughter #2 announced "That's a very trendy watch you've got there, Dad". Apparently Bench is some sort of designer thingy. I'll just have to wear long sleeves all the time to hide it. Otherwise, it seems, I will gain street cred; something decidedly to be avoided.
