Exchange in uk
« on: January 18, 2014, 08:54:52 AM »
Hi all
Think I will take the plunge and order now for my 3 trips this year
Question is. Where is best rates available in uk?
Or do I take my chances and wait till April and get the  finansbank rate
And I know, if I had a crystal ball we would all be loaded
But opinions please

You always get a better exchange rate in Turkey.

We only take enough lira for the first day and then change the rest there.

I may have misunderstood.

Kevmaclean2001 may well know that it's better to change over there but is just taking the plunge on the high rate at present

I know you always get a better deal in Turkey. Wether it be from the bank or local jeweller
But I'm not out until April and think the rate will hav dropped by then
So if I could get 3.50 now in uk. I think it's maybe worth the gamble
But you pay your money, you take your chances

I'm thinking along the same lines.  We normally never take much lira out with us, just enough to get us through the first day and then change sterling.  But we're not out until May and really not sure if the rate is going to stay as high as this until then, so may just take the risk of buying some now while it's high and still taking some sterling, just in case!    ;)
