Ovacik in March
« on: March 23, 2014, 16:57:09 PM »
My daughter chilling on the wall outside our house

The views directly in front of us with the stunning sunsets and the view to the left of us with Babadag showing a smidgen of snow on its peak still.

Wonderful views - can you see the sea from where you are?

We will never tire of these views. And in the picture below, although perhaps not very clear, the sea is the horizon on the left.

We so need a telescope for viewing from up here. Apart from admiring the amazing scenery and stars we might be able to see what on earth is going on half way up Babadag on what appears to be an inaccessible part of the mountain. Through my Mum's woefully inadequate opera glasses, we can make out a JCB ......

Funnily enough, I searched for several years to get one of those coin operated telescopes you get at the seaside etc to put on our roof terrace. I never found one for sale.

It does seem a bit strange seeing lights and fires halfway up babadag though, whatever can they be doing?
They are lovely views from yours ,it,s amazing how far you can see, even without a telescope..love them :-)

Scunner,  what was that app you once mentioned that tells you which star/planet is which when you point your ipad at it?  Was it Starwalk?

Menthol, it's a great app and I bet the stars up there are fantastic to look at.

Going to have to price up a telescope over here but furnishing the house comes first.

We are already very happy here, sue mac   :)

Yes all very odd up Babadag Bernie, very odd.

Oh wow, Bluwise that sounds like a brilliant app!

Scunner. Though it is a bit mean of you to charge your family for using it!!!!!!
