Turkish Government Database Stolen
« on: April 06, 2016, 12:09:54 PM »
This story has been rumbling along for a few days now - hackers say they've managed to download a government database with personal details (name, DoB, parents name, addresses etc) of over 50m Turkish citizens. Couple of articles on Hurriyet and Guardian.

Government officials saying its all bollox and that its an old rumour from years ago, hackers saying no its not and we can prove it.

Well, look like they did steal the data and they can prove it.  It's online at: https://thanksgiving.who.ec

I haven't been able to access it, I suspect its on overload but according to a few folks on different forums they found either their details or those of relatives.

Massive OOPS by someone's IT department.

It didn't happen. And if it did happen it was nothing to do with the AKP. And if it was something to do with the AKP we haven't used the information. And if we did it was all a long time ago anyway. And ... hell we're fed up of all this, you are closed down with immediate effect, leave your laptops now and don't write another word.

The government have found the perpetrators of the leaks.  It was none other than the Gulanist's. So apparently it did happen.    HDN.

Anyone who doesn't think Reggie is the best thing since sliced bread must be part of a Parallel State.   ;)
