1% Hydrocortisone cream for bites.  Takes the itch away immediately.

One of the lovely waiters in Fethiye Iskele advised my daughter to get AMONIAC (Spelling?) from chemist for my grand daughter when she was bitten.

All I do if I get bitten is to heat a teaspoon under the tap, quite hot, and hold it for 10 seconds on the bite, it stops the itching immediately and the bite just disappears after a day or two

The worst bites are the black flies.   They seem to lurk under tables outside.  So, if you are going out, put plenty of spray on your feet and legs.

I find eating plenty of Marmite puts the mozzies off of biting me. The lemon cologne worked well for me too.
