The drivers in Tangiers make Turkish motorists look like Advanced Motorists

We stopped at Agadir during our cruise last year - it was pretty much at the height of concern in regard to Muslim countries and terrorism as well as the usual hassle etc - in fact the Thomson crew on the ship held a special meeting for passengers so they could give them some info on the situation.

Anyway, we weren't going to be staying on the ship and we got a superb English speaking taxi driver into the beach part (which is lovely - I'll look out some photos) and the marina area which was lined with designer shops. We went into quite a few and a few restaurants for a coffee (AKA Wifi) and to be absolutely honest, not only were we not hassled, nobody even looked up when we came in :D

Brilliant, Scunner.

Looks like a very pleasant 3 hour drive south to somewhere rather attractive.

So much preferable to an inland journey to the ever more unappealing Marrakesh!

Agadir's now very much on my "must do" list.

Again - thank you for doing this. It is very much appreciated.

We took a ships tour in Agadir, this probably was a mistake.  We had a trip around some ruins and a place up high which has good views of the town.  We then went to a place where we saw a demonstration of horse riding by men dressed in old costumes.  That was quite good.  Then a market, which was very smelly and we were pestered by stallholders to buy and by beggars for money.  We were told to be careful as there were pickpockets.  We went through some terrible looking areas on the way back to the ship.
Obviously, should not have bothered with the tour, you live and learn.

You should have walked off the ship, selected your taxi driver and asked to be taken to the beach/marina.

wow......and not cheap either, I'm sure.

I think I can cope with a bit of that.

Not quite Gocek, yacht wise - but I don't like Gocek that much.

What a place to have a waterfront apartment, though. Nothing overly high.

All that and a fabulous looking beach.

I doubt the owners of those apartments are snake charmers!
