I always try and tip 10-15%, however if my bill comes to 75TL and I get a 20 TLnote and a 5TL note, there is no way that I will give 20TL tip, so I give only the 5 TL as they are probably expecting me to give them the 20!! I also heard that a lot of restaurants do not give their tips to the staff (the management keep them).

It's worth remembering that 5TL is not much more than a pound these days - not much of a reward or appreciation :D

People who leave a lira tip - I'm sure they appreciate the 22p  ;)

Pet hate of mine - when out for a meal with friends who want the bill split up for what everyone had rather by the total divided by the number of diners aggghhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!  :)  :)  :)
