Title: ADSL Speeds Will Be Higher
Post by: cenk on August 04, 2007, 10:16:51 AM: Turkish Telecom announced that ADSL speeds will be higher starting from 6th of august . Upgrades will be done automatically by telecom. Customers will pay same or lower amounts but will get higher speed as below
256 unlimited - 1 megabyte unlimited . Price same 49 YTL
512 unlimited - 2 megabyte unlimited . New price 69 instead of 79 YTL
1 megabyte unlimited - 4 megabyte . 89 YTL

What the difference, I get that now, it is Tedas I have the problem with, no electric no internet.

Post by: tribalelder on August 05, 2007, 08:10:04 AM: Theoretically for 49TL you are getting 256 kbps but in practice you are probably only getting about half of that.
If the theoretiacal level is increased to 1 Megabyte you may possibly get half of that which should give a faster download speed than you get now. Tedas and TT willing!!

All will be revealed in the fullness of Turkish Time.:D

I took the suggested server - but no change for me. Having said that I don't really have much complaint about the speed - presumably I just wait for it to happen?

You could turn off the firewall for the duration of the download.
