Title: French Restaurant & Boutique Hotel
Post by: BabaYard on August 27, 2009, 19:03:33 PM
During our visit recent visit to Turkey we heard about a new French Restaurant & Boutique Hotel that has opened in Ovacik. We had a meal there last Wednesday, and the food was exquisite, the views stunning. The service was also attentive, but not rushed.

It's run by three European guys, one Belgian, and two Dutch - And yes they have established a Limited Turkish company without having to partner with a Turk which is possible now. Good for them!

Where is it? - At the top of the hill turn right towards the Green Anatolia. Once past the Green Anatolia the road comes to a junction where a 'new' gravel track on the LEFT has been created specifically for the hotel. It's walkable, but we were advised against it, as there are wild Bore roaming freely!! If you call to make a booking, one of the guys will pick you up from the villa, or the Sunset / Evita. Make sure you are there for the sun set..

The Name? - 'Palazzo IL Rifugio'

Contact Details? - Eric Bolsius - 05397294345

Enjoy!:D

The worst thing that you can do is bump into a Wild Bore, there are certain bars in Calis that are full of them.    8): :)

Sounds intreguing - I had heard a rumour about a French restaurant opening up. Have they got a website? Or can you tell us more about the menu, prices etc.

Here is a link to the web site - http://www.palazzo-il-rifugio.com/

The prices were very reasonable, and in fact cheaper than most of the mainstream restaurants in Hisaronu. I can't recall all of the menu, but I can recommend the Goats Cheese for starter, the Chicken Livers for main, and the Sabayon for desert - Bliss!

Lucky for me Scotland is so compassionate

I have a feeling that site is banned because it is hosted somewhere that must have been (probably totally unwittingly) hosting another site which contained content deemed unsuitable. There's certainly nothing controversial on the hotel website  :) The blocking of websites can be very indiscriminate if you happen to share a server with a site considered dodgy [:o]

Here's the first lines of the English page for you then. :D Definitely needs some editing though.  ;)

Just a walk away from the vivid town of Hisrönu, with the mondaine city of fethiye close-by, and the clear blue water of Ölüdeniz ('the blue Lagoon') whithin reach, Palazzo 'il Rifugio' offers all you need for a well-deserved , relaxing holiday.

It might be worth changing the DNS settings on your computer to enable you to get the website.

We tried to find the restaurant/hotel today to no avail. Can anyone help with anymore specific instructions? We drove up past Evita and Sunset, then turned right towards the Green Anatolia, which is signed. We past teh entrance, which was on our left. We saw several gravel tracks and ventured up all of them but we still couldnt find the new 'Palazzo IL Rifugio' ?

We went last week - the location and views are superb, and the food and hospitality were excellent.

It is quite small in terms of the number of covers they can cater for, but that makes it a bit more special.  It is necessary to book.  On the night we went they had one other couple and a party of around eight, and I think that that is probably about as many as they want on any one night.

We enjoyed it and wish them well.

3 "happy customer" reviews for the same place in 30 minutes for the SAME PLACE and not one post from you about any other subject. I do not believe you are a customer, you keep writing your self-promotion adverts, it takes me far less time to delete them than it does you to spam our forum with them.

We went to the restaurant in September, the owners
picked us up at the shell garage and took us to the hotel,
I thought the place was very nice, the food was great and
I thought good value.
We would not hesitate to recomend it...

to scunner, I seriously resent your tone and manner of working.  I live in Ovacik for many years now, and I became a member only today. I posted indeed 3 messages about the subject of the restaurant, as it is worth mentioning.  YOU deleting faster than I can write is an abuse of your powers....  therefor, just throw me of your clientlist, and I will spread the word that it is just not worth the trouble to get a member. Thank God, some other satisfied clients have also posted comments, which shows you're in the wrong!

Why does satisfied clients posting mean I am wrong? They aren't posting anything about your posts.

Go spread the word that it is not worth the trouble "to get a member", because I am right about you and I don't want more pretend customers that you know coming here to do the same.

If I removed them why are you referring to them? Because they are all still there, I only removed YOUR posts as you are lying about being a satisfied customer.

This really is a poor attempt at deceipt, give up now - this is a terrible advert for you and your business.

6 of us had a meal at the restaurant a couple of weeks ago.

It was excellent French food at very reasonable prices.

Very "personal" with an exclusive feel BUT it was not overly expensive.   We spent more than normal as we had 3 courses due to the food sounding (and tasting) fantastic !.   The menu was extensive.

We had the house wine which was a nice red and an excellent white. The wine was the same price or cheaper than you would pay in Hisaronu / Ovacik for "house" wine.   I'd say for a 3 course meal you would pay perhaps 8 TL more per person at most ... for far superior food.

I wouldn't go there every night as it might feel a bit formal for some, but it was a real treat and a great addition to the area.

It's primarily a hotel, so in high season there aren't many tables for non-residents ... booking essential !.  The hotel / restaurant will stay open over winter and will do a Christmas menu.

I really hope it works out for the owners.

Highly recommended and a new entry in our favourite restaurants list !

This is definately on our list of favourite restaurants. Today we enjoyed their sumptious Christmas menu and spent a fabulous few hours in wonderful surroundings ... the Christmas decorations are stunning, excellant service and food as always.

Eating here is always a memorable and pleasurable experience. Eric, Frank, Philip and Phil are wonderful hosts. I would highly recommend the restaurant for something different form the norm, upmarket ... but not pretentious.

Had yet another wonderful meal here again last night. For anyone going for the first time you are in for a real treat - service, menu, food, surroundings - all exceptional  8) There are also some refurbishments underway both inside and outside the hotel, which can only add more value to what is already a very special dining experience.  :)
