Post by: linda4654 on June 01, 2015, 06:22:03 AM
had a drink in the place with the coloured chairs which is part of the Duck Pond,I had a gin and tonic and was charged 20 lira. Went to Address on the sea front and the same drink 13 lira with better views. I won't be going back !

This is the section for Calis, these places you mention are in Fethiye, however, lots of places with good views in Fethiye.  Try The Cafe Park Teras, fabulous views, also all the places along the Kordon, great views there.  I think the Duck Pond is just a big tourist magnet that will charge more.
For a place without a view but a lovely garden setting, try the Mozaik Bahce.  Although I love a G.&.T. you cannot beat theirhome made lemonade or their iced coffee..  Big bonus the staff are the best.  :)

Nichola's home made ginger beer is divine at Mosaik Bahce!  :P

Yes, Phil loves that and we cannot think of any other place that does home made Ginger Beer.  I remember as a child me and my pals used to get "ginger beer plants" and put them in a jar of water and made our own Ginger Beer.

I've never used the place at the Duck pond, I don't like their aggressive efforts to get customers and their attitude when you decline.

Don't like it either, mainly because of the cruetly to the ducks, also think they are aggressive in trying to rope you in and once saw a pigeon flying out of the kitchen and was told by a local that it is quite a regular thing for pigeons to fly in and out of their kitchens.   Why go there, when you can go the the Mozaik Bahce, no comparison IMHO.

Nothing new there - it's a really clever idea in getting the food orders in and out of the kitchen quickly and cuts down on belligerent waiting staff.

Exactly, so why compare them?

Well obviously I am letting new members know about the Mozaik Bahce, as they may not have heard of it.  We all know but this particular member is new and may not know.
I am not comparing, there is no comparison as I already said.  I am merely stating for the benefit of a new member that there is a much better option a short walk away.  :)

Well Ken, why not help the new member by by not keeping them to yourself, but letting them and everyone else know a few?    :)

Because I thought this thread was about the DUCK POND  8)

The thread was saying the Duck Pond was expensive, so recommendations for other places, I am sure will not go amiss.
Don't worry the Thread Police will not get us for not sticking strictly to the title.  If they did 99% of the members would be in jail now.    :)

I will leave you to worry about that Scorcher, it seems to be what you live for no matter how many times you get told off by the Boss, you just cannot help yourself...    Strange, it is only me you check on.  :)

I think the frequent bickering between members is likely to put new members off this forum, if someone miss spells something, goes slightly of thread, they are likely to be pulled up about it. Gets a bit boring really

When you have made as many posts as Jacqui it does seem a bit petty pointing out the odd spelling mistake.Did he not understand what was meant. I did.

Yes, I'm sure we all did!  We're also well aware that Jacqui is more than capable of sticking up for herself in no uncertain terms!   ;)

By the way, my last post was meant to be a joke!  ;D
