Be very wary when using Calis beach taxis- depot at dolphin roundabout and the one about 300m further down
Both yesterday and today went to get a taxi and they refused point blank to turn on the meter
Cannot sing the praises highly enough of the taxis operating off the button system in Yerguzlar Cadd- immediate response friendly and always use meter- but these other schisters give local taxis a bad name

used them twice this week and they put on their meters

Can only report my experience

They have been doing this for a year now and charging a flat rate of 25tl for the Calis area, totaly not on. We never use them now and always call the taxis by the state hospital.
My daughter used them 2 weeks ago to get a taxi to the Sunday market from the taxi boat office. Once they got in the taxi he turned his meter off, my daughter who speaks Turkish told him in no uncertain terms to put it back on again, which he reluctantly did and then proceeded to drive like a lunatic to their destination. The fare came to 14tl!
She gave him a 20tl note and where she would have left the rest as a tip she waited for her change...

How do you think I afforded all my holidays to Calis :) ***HUMOUR***

We've been getting taxis in Ovacik all the time and its 20 - 25 TL depending on how far we have gone. At that price I don't need a meter on. Get in a taxi at home and the meter is on about £2.50 before you move.
Good value IMHO.
One chancer said 45 when we got out I just point blank refused it. He accepted 25 ;)
