Tree Houses

Seen a few queries about the Olympos Tree houses. We went 2 years ago and had a fantastic time.
Started with a 3 day /2 night gulet cruise from Fethiye which showed us some wonderful places with backwater stops overnight along the way. Price included a bus transfer from final boat stop into Olympos. Just tell the driver when you want him to stop at the tree house pension you want...we didn't book but you can if you check out the internet.
Stayed in Tree house pension but upgraded to a "bungalow" rather that the very basic tree house which was a shed on stilts, no windows and a mattress on floor, £5 per night inc bed breakfast and evening meal. The Bungalow was £8 per night had windows, fan, and proper beds and en suite & meals as above.
You can walk down to the beach through the ruins and just chill out. We were in our late 40's and thought we might be the oldest hippies in town but there were older people and families with kids so great age range.
No TV so in evening everyone just sat under the stars drinking & playing chess, backgammon etc etc.
If you want to go to Chimera then most of the pensions have organised trips in the evenings for a few £s. Be warned it's a hot long walk up hill with no lighting so take a torch and good shoes and loads of water.
When you want to get back home, then there is a bus that takes you up to the main road where you can get the bus back to Fethiye and this was very cheap and took the coast route so great views as well.
Hope this gives you all an idea of what its like but we would highly recommend it if you are a bit of an old hippy and want a few days chilling out and an unique experience for a few days.
Have fun and try new experiences as they say" we're only on this earth once":D

This place sounds like just what im looking for. Im off to calis soon for 6 weeks but dont want to stay in Calis that long I want to explore. How do you get there if you're going straight from fethiye rather than on a gulet cruise first? How long does it take to get there?

Would you be able to drive there ok if you dont know the roads too well, will it be easy to find?! Do you think it would be safe enough for me to go by myself or is that a silly question!?!

If travelling by road I would contact one of the tree house sites and get driving instructions.
There were singles there when we went and they seemed safe enough but as always when on your own be aware :)
It took us about 2-3 hours on the bus was that was the coast road and lots of stops.
Gulet cruise was the best way as you would get to know others on the boat and see some great places you would miss by road and it only cost £80 inc all food(was 3 years ago). You can take your own booze on board to cut costs.
Have fun it's a great trip.
