Darn ADSL!!!
« on: July 28, 2007, 13:07:44 PM »
Is anyone else having problems with the ADSL connection over the last 24hours?

I continue to have the connection light dropped warning, I then get the phone just get through to ADSL the recorded message clicks in press 1 etc.. then the damn lights come back on!

I have got the patience of a saint but in this heat it is wearing it very thin!

Our ADSL keeps dropping here too. Been bad since the season started. Too many tourists trying to log on at the Internet Cafes maybe ?

Us Mountain Folk don't do pants. I have the occasional bout of heavy breathing though !

Switching the modem off then back on seems to help when it goes completely dead. :(

It could possibly be a voltage drop that is causing the problem. If it is, it can be cured by fitting a continuous power supply unit. A tell tale sign is a slight flicker of the lights but not enough to close your system down. :)

No problem here, just as slow as usual.
Good tip Brian, anyone using computers here should also be using a ups, they will save your system eventually, and are very cheap.
