A reminder that the Calis Carnival Spring Craft Fair/Car Boot Sale and Easter Bunny Fancy Dress Fun Run is taking place in Calis this Sunday morning.
The fair/car boot sale will again be in the car park at the rear of Mado Ice Cream Parlour on Calis seafront. The format will be the same as the recent car boot sales but we hope to encourage more craft stalls. The event will open to sellers from 9 am and buyers from 10 am. Stalls cost 10 lira. In order to help the event run more smoothly (and to save the male committee members permanent injury struggling to carry tables from the nearby hotel) we will now be hiring in plastic tables and chairs from a company in Fethiye for anyone who does not bring their own. These will be delivered to the car park early in the morning and will cost sellers 2 lira a table to hire. This hire charge will be in addition to the usual sellers fee of 10 lira. Each seller will be allowed space for 2 tables. If anyone requires more tables then a further sellers fee will be charged. Enquiries 0535 8554919.
To coincide with the fair, the Fethiye Hash House Harriers are holding an Easter Bunny Fancy Dress Fun Run in Calis. This event will be open to young and old alike, the fit and unfit! There will be two routes, a 5km route for adults and a 2 km flat run/stroll around Calis for the children and the less active. The shorter route will include an Easter egg hunt for Cadbury's cream eggs organised by carnival mascot Tommy Turtle.
Registration will take place at the Hash Harriers information stand in the car park from 10.30 am and the fun run will set off from the car park at 12.00 noon. The entry fee for the run will be 5 lira for adults and free for children. This money will go towards the carnival charities. Fancy dress is optional but we hope that lots of people will enter into the spirit of the event with bunny ears and Easter bonnets. The Fun Run will finish about two hours later at Theo's Restaurant in Koca Calais with a big BBQ (adults 10 lira, children 5 lira). For details of the run please telephone Tom on 0536 5201675.
