do the stores in Uzumlu have a good choice of groceries?
and how do prices compare to the larger towns, how much would i expect to pay for beer/wine etc, to fill the fridge in our rented villa.

They have a reasonable choice in the village but Fethiye has the large supermarkets and usually better prices.
Tespos best bet for beer a case is under 40 ytl.

There is, apparently, a lady who sells red wine (lives opposite Wine House) for 5/6 ytl a bottle.  Otherwise, would suggest buying in fethiye as expensive in shops and Wine House

Do NOT buy ANY village wine even though Uzum in Turkish is grape! We've bought locally and had brown wine, wine that made Sarsons taste great and wine that we used to clean the drains! Dickmans, perhaps the best of the decent Turkish wines is presently on offer at 8.5 ytl at Migros.

Chris, that's harsh!  And you should try Tespo rather than Migros, their wines are much cheaper.  I think Dikmen's is about 8 ytl normal price

The lady who sells the wine opposite the Winehouse is quite happy for you to taste the wine before you buy......so if you don't like it you don't buy.  I don't drink Sarson's  so can't compare!

No nation was ever drunk when wine was cheap.

Dycedon, Tespo's is on the way into Fethiye from Karacuhla/Camcoy way (left at the roundabout on the Dalaman/Antalya road, right at the next set of traffic lights, right at the next 2 little roundabouts)  It's a long road so it must be around 1.5/2.0 miles down on your right hand side.  Big building with yuck yellow trim set back from road.  Efes beer is cheaper there as well - in fact most things - if you buy a crate (returnable/deposit) the beer works out around 1.60 ytl for large bottle.
Karacuhla market is also cheaper than Fethiye/Calis.  Local not tourist para for fruit/veggies/household goods.
In fact, everything is cheaper in that area rather than Fethiye.
Hope this helps
