First Victory against Urantas

Hi All,

As you may remember we were fighting 2 cases through the courts. The first being the application to build a lime kiln on the same sight as the proposed cement factory.
Well we have had it confirmed and have the paperwork that the Lime Kiln has been stopped by the courts :D
This should bode well for the cement factory case as it is being fought on the same grounds.

So this is our first result to help protect this wonderful area and the health of all of us who live here.
Please keep up the support as the Cement Factory is a much bigger case and we still have to raise the other half of the lawyers costs approx 15000 ytl.

Good news at last

Has the work on the kiln been killed completely or just until the court case is resolved?

As I said in the post it has been stopped by the courts.
There were 2 cases we were fighting...the Lime kiln & the cement factory. There is only one left, and that is the Cement Factory case and that is still in the courts jurasdiction. We have been told we should have news in the next 2-3 months.
Cheers

Is it logical that if the lime kiln was thrown out then the much larger cement factory has no chance either?

It is logical Scunner but as you know only too well Turkish & logic do not work too well together. ;):D
The cement factory case is being fought on the same grounds so if the courts uphold their own laws it should be stopped, but until the courts say so I am still hoping.
It also adds extra expenses to working a cement factory because now they will have to ship in the Lime.
So fingers crossed..

Well done, Firo and Eric (and everyone else who has faught hard):D
Can you tell us a bit more about this other quarry?  There is already another (smaller but getting bigger all the time) quarry behind my house, Cameli Rd, righthand side driving to Cameli which is owned locally.  Will this new one be in the same vicinity?

The plans we have seen today are showing it between the Incirkoy and Koyu road so not near you Peecee. Quite near the Quarry Urantas are working at present.
12 expats attended the press meeting today in Incikoy and were made extreemly welcome by the locals who thanked us for coming to show our support. There were cameras and videos taken for syndication in local & national press & TV. The petition was rapidly filled and taken by others to gather signatures. We were even invited to have something to eat afterwards by the Baskan.
When the news of the Lime Factory was announced they were very happy.
I have a petition so if you or any others want to sign it let me know. It is with me till Monday night & then it is being taken to Mugla.
Thanks
