Sting...not all Uzumlu residents so please do not lump us all under that banner, it's a very small minority.

Why ??? oh Why ?  do people feel the need to have a bitch on an open forum ?

We love Uzumlu, we love the people of Uzumlu (well, 98% of them !), why do the very odd few, constantly want to put a spin on what its like ?   It is a fantastic little community, and I for one, can't wait to hang up my boots and retire there.  No, we can't get on with everyone, but we are all grown ups, if you have differences, just accept them and respect other peoples opinions.   fi - Eric, we wish you every success with your next event.  All those out there who are dubious, go to uzumlu yourselves and experience its true magic, don't listen to those who seem to exist to 'dish' it.

Every village has it's idiots and the smaller the village the more space they take up, all the people I have spent time with from Uzumlu are great people and would love to meet them again sometime soon ;)

As I read it, the issue with that was the suggestion that all the hard work and functions organised to highlight the cement factory issue (arranged by Fi & Eric etc) should be celebrated by all with a party for all arranged by Fi & Eric!

How disappointing it must have been, to read that all your efforts and time were worthy of recognition and celebration - with a party, if they wanted to organise it themselves! A party was an excellent idea and would probably have brought people closer in the area.

For God's sake, isn't it obvious that a party to celebrate someone's success should be arranged FOR them, rather than BY them! Sorry if this sounds cynical (actually I'm not that sorry) but this World seems full of those who do, totally outnumbered by those who won't but might if someone else does all the work for them.

There's a pattern emerging from these topics, a relatively unknown comes on here makes a provocative statement, then just sits back and watches, probably laughing his head off.
