I can win an argument on any topic, against any opponent. People know this, and steer clear of me at parties. Often, as a sign of their great respect, they don't even invite me.

I'm not knocking BCB or Calvin, or indeed anyone else. From the various things I have arranged I know the feeling that if you do it, people are happy, and if you don't, nobody else will. I'm not even talking about good causes or charities really - how many times do people suggest a CBF meet up, then wait for me to arrange it? If I don't, it rarely happens. CBF gives everyone the free facility to arrange meet ups, and it can be frustrating to see such apathy.

On the specific subject of charities, those who donate and those who don't, of course you can't press gang and pressure people into donating, but it is irritating to see people not supporting you. I continually read about the wonderful moments, stories and kindness experienced over here, and it sometimes appears that lovely as it was, it wasn't worth a fiver for people who have relatively bugger all.

I'm not saying it's right to feel that way, and of course you don't know whether people donate in their own private way - what I am saying is there are far too many people sitting around, day in day out, wondering what people are going to arrange for them to do.
