Calis's own Mrs Motivator, keep fit and dance enthusiast Ceri is throwing down the gauntlet to locals and holidaymakers alike to join her in a fun "Battle of the Sexes" Aerobics Challenge at the entrance to Calis Promenade opposite the water taxi bridge at 4.00 pm on Sunday afternoon 17 May.
This fun event, which is not as strenuous as it sounds, is open to all ages. You do not need fancy leotards or expensive sporting gear to take part; in fact fancy dress could be the order of the day and it is understood that Calis's own Green God/Godess (?) Tommy Turtle, the Carnival Caretta mascot may be taking part.
The 45 minute session will start with a gentle warm up and stretches to limber people up before Ceri introduces a few movements, dance steps and routines. There will definitely be no floor exercises, squats or star jumps as the whole idea of the event is to have a laugh. There will be a small entry fee of 5 TL and small penalties for those who drop out within the first 15 minutes, with all money raised going to the Carnival charities, helping disadvantaged children in the Calis/Fethiye area.
