Carnival 2010 Committee - Would You Enjoy Helping?
« on: May 31, 2009, 11:11:10 AM »
Speaking with Pete & Chrissie, they are very pleased with the positive reaction the 2009 carnival received on CBF.

After the main tourist season (and the well earned break for the committee) they would be very interested to hear from members who would perhaps like to discuss joining the committee, or possibly becoming (as they put it) "foot soldiers" who are invaluable on the many various event days.

Positive people who are doers or full of ideas are the sort of people they prefer, there aren't any openings for people to criticise and come up with no suggestions or help  ;)

Anyone fancy the challenge? If you have any questions about what could be involved, you can ask them here and committee members will be around to answer. Go on, put your spare time to positive and rewarding good use  :)

It is nearing the time of year when the Carnival committee are beginning to plan their events again for the coming year 2010. We have 2 new  Turkish people for the committee and we are very grateful to them. HOWEVER we need more actual bodies on the ground so to speak. Without more help then this year's Carnival may not take place. Please can anyone spare some time to help us out. I am sure that you will find it enjoyable. You can put in as much or as little time as you wish. so it won't take all of your Summer up. It is a great way to meet new English and the local Turkish community. HELP US PLEASE.

Come on guys and gals, we need you.  It really gives you the feel good factor and we do have a laugh. There's so many factors to giving a hand, from wrapping tombola presents, to decorating Tommy's float, putting up posters, helping at the boot sales, giving out leaflets, getting sponsorship, ideas for fundraising.  There's a job to suit everyone.

All these ex-pats must be too busy to help these needy local causes in the country that welcomed them in to live, Anne. I've seen them, sitting around day in day out, being busy.

I'm sure she would have told Anne (mercury) Mark, in which case Anne would have written "17th in queue" or something, different to "1st in the queue" anyway :D
