The majority of car booters on Sunday were Turkish local people. Most of them not rich by any means. I spoke to 2 of them who were selling some of their goods as Bayram is coming and they needed the money. I also spoke to a Welsh woman today who is married to a Turkish man. They had a business in Olu Deniz which did very badly. They are selling some of their clothes and home goods to make money to keep themselves in the Winter. There is a market somewhere on most days in this area. It will always hurt someone but a lot more needy people gain.

Duck pies? I never saw duck pies! I'd have bought a few of those. You can't get duck pies at the sunday market you see. Or grapefruits at the car boot. Life was so complicated back then

As for Little Britain - when we had a stall at the car boot sale it wasn't British people we were selling to in the main by any means. Please remember it makes money to help people who couldn't care less whether it came from 'Little Britain', sausage rolls or anywhere else. Why are some individuals so against using what works to benefit local people? If a bacon sandwich van made enough money in Calis to buy a projector for a school that needs one, who gives a ****?

It will do, it is insensitive in the extreme to a lot of people who do a lot more good for "the Turkish community" you value so much than you do.

Maybe it was and maybe it wasn't, but the fact remains (as I've stated so many times) that the expats who do the least have the most to say when it comes to the efforts of others.
