Dumped Puppy
« on: February 07, 2010, 20:40:43 PM »
This evening between 5 and 9pm someone dropped off a Very Small Chocolate & White Puppy at our stables.

The puppy who is about 2mths old was left by the stable door.  It is very lucky to be alive as we have 2 very large 16.3hh horses that use this area as it is under cover from the rain.

We are not able to take in unwanted animals.  We are not a charity.

Can the owner please collect him asap.

Isn't that fairly unlikely?

Yes we agree that there is very little chance that the owner will come forward.

The real point is that there are enough stray dogs in Fethiye and Uzumlu.  If owners do not want their dogs to have pups then they should take them to the vets or the animal centre and have them seen to.

This poor mite never asked to be born, and I don't surpose it chose your stable door to be dumped at, although it is more likly it was droped at the side of the road and came to you looking for love and affection, not to mention food and water.
Appreaciate you are not a charity, but it is a living creature, least you can do is feed it, keep it warm, and take it to a place of safety, like the Animal sanctuary.

they didn't say they're not going to feed it - seems a bit harsh!

Dreamon: Like your comment. We feel that someone dropped him at the stables as there is no way that this very small pup can wade ankle deep in water and mud.(Human ankle)from the lane at the side of the stables. To come from the house down to the field he would have had to swim in water and mud too. He was DUMPED. Left with no food either. We have given him a bed and water and adult/senior cat food as we dont have puppy food.

ilrifugio: we will post a pic of him. If you would like to come and see him pls call us on  0536 866 5286.

We cant keep him as we have cats.

He is lovely and needs a home asap

if it proves to be a problem, please take it down to the Animal Shelter on the way to Fethiye, they will take it from you and it will go into the puppy pen, these are usually the first dogs to be rehomed.

As we have been placing pups throughout the last summer, we sometimes still have people asking for pups to be placed.  I will try to let you know asap.  Is it male or female?  picture would help, so I can print it out and show it.... We have 4 dogs ourselves, have always been breeding Shi-Tzu's, but we had all our dogs 'helped', as you call it,   when we moved to Turkey.(even had one Turkish dog here -it was not ours, but the pups and mother ended up at our place- spaded last year that got pregnant at the age of 8 monthss!!!!))  Indeed there are too many abandoned and lost souls here already....  And please everybody, us trying to help out here, does NOT mean that this is an invitation to start dumping them on our treshold again!  Everybody should start taking responsability to have dogs (and cats for that matter) neutered and spaded (sorry for the spellling).
