be careful about buying from this guy

Not a shop as such but just to warn others

We saw this advert and contacted the guy and he came around to the house and showed us pictures on his laptop and asked which we would like.
We had no preference so asked which he thought would be best and he showed us a Beko and said it was a really good machine.
We also agreed to buy a fridge freezer.
I asked about guarantees and was told he was my guarantee, any problem let him know

They delivered it, really carelessly dragging it across obviously new flooring, and chipped a lump out of the doorway trim
Anyway, they installed it, told us not to try it for 2 hours and left.

The following day we used it

1. The dials were obviously not original to the machine
2. The door was loose and John had to screw it on properly
3. The soap tray  is full of limescale and the fabric conditioner section has a hole in it, so the liquid pours straight out onto the floor
4. It made the most horrendous squealing noises, took over 2 hours to finish the programme
5. It kept trying and failing to spin, but sort of spun in the end
6.The clothes came out dripping wet

I rang him, and he said he would come and look but didnt turn up
Rang again and he came later the next day with a service guy.
The guy got out some glue and fixed a hole in the door seal, opened the door on the bottom front, flooded the kitchen floor, tried it with just a few items and of course the noise wasnt so bad.

I said I wasnt happy as the advert said it was new condition and its obviously an ancient machine but he refused to change it, or give a refund, said theres nothing wrong with it and left.

The service guy was leaving and I asked about the tray, and he said tomorrow, but never materialised.
Ive texted a few times to ask again for it to be changed but havent got anywhere.

A Turkish friend said we should complain at the Mayors office and that the machines not even worth 100 tl.
Has anyone ever tried this?

I told the guy I had been advised to complain and said I would also tell a forum of over 4000 people in the area, but hes just not bothered.
Anyway, heres the advert...

Smile, you're on Calis Beach Forum...

Name aydin
Surname ozyesil
Mugla / Fethiye / Babatasi Mahallesi

We could all give him a ring at different times of night till you get your money back. All 7000+ of us actually  ;)

Sadly life in Turkey means that for every great deed of kindness, there is often someone following up with a con.

Same old tale, would you have done this in the UK?
You only get what you pay for, and, trust me, I'm not trying to upset you any more than you obvously already are.
I think phoning his number constantly is a fantastic idea, by the way.
Gordy.

A sad tale and we all learn by our mistakes unfortunately, it's an expensive lesson.
If you need any further white goods go to Eren Spot.  We bought all our kitchen stuff from him and were amazed that the Beko items had a 7 year guarantee.  We did have one problem two years ago with the dishwasher which was four years old, but no probably the Beko service guy came out and sorted it for us at no cost.

Agree with Jacqui, We go to Erin Spot as our first port of call, never had a bad deal yet. Sorry to hear of your experience Kayakebab, but at least you will have ensured that no members of CBF will be conned by this man.
