We ladies from Embrace have just spent a wonderful and heartwarming morning at Fetav meeting some of the students we have been able to help. Guzde of course who has had one operation and is seeeing a surgeon later this month about a second operation .The children were accompanied by their parents who wanted to let us know what a difference helping the youngsters had meant to them. A beautiful 15 year old girl and her brother who were both deaf and can now hear .She was so thrilled to say how happy she was as she can now hear everthing that is said to her plus hearing the birds where before she had less than 40% hearing. They are both doing so much better in school and in their personal lives and the mother said she will be eternally grateful that her children were helped as the cost was far beyond their means . We spent just under 10,000 lira on these two children alone but seeing them both and the parents made us realise it was money well spent. So many stories that some of us found it difficult not to cry . A father came along to say how unruly and difficult his son was as he was deaf and very frustrated but now he is a changed person and is now doing so well with all his school work and is a much more contented and happy child . The headmaster of the special needs school they attend was also present at the meeting told us about a lad who was 2 years behind in his schoolwork because of severe eye problems . Following an operation which we funded he has now caught up with all his peers and is doing so well in every way .He said all of the children we have helped have made great strides in their schoolwork since having treatment . We had invited the Uzumlu Ladies group to join us as they had so kindly donated once again to our charity and this time a wonderful sum of 1200 lira so we thought it would be nice for them to see how the money is being spent. Thank you ladies we are so grateful for your help and you saw for yourselves how much it is necessary to help for these children . All in all a wonderful meeting and makes us realise why we do what we do. One fantastic comment was made that they don't call us the ladies from Embrace but the Angel Ladies . Now that did bring a tear to my eyes. A big thank you to anyone who has helped us achieve our aims .Our project enabled 350 children to have eye treatment . Our aim now it to help more children with hearing problems plus the eye project is ongoing ..Hopefully photographs to follow .
