I think the one thing that not only ex-pats do but us regulars do is kiss on both cheeks.  I think it's charming, however, it's not done in the U.K. One of our Turkish men friends now kisses and hugs Phil too, seems so normal in Turkey but could not see his friends in Scotland doing it...
