Two children needing operations
« on: February 03, 2014, 09:55:10 AM »
Last year we paid for Guzde a young Turkish girl to have an operation on her foot to enable her to walk better as both her feet are badly deformed . Today I have just returned from meeting  her with the surgeon to discuss an operation on the other foot . Really good news is he thinks as the first op was successful then he will be able to help her. The first operation was carried out in Antalya but Devlet now has a new Orthopaedic surgeon so the operation will be free and we will pay for medical supplies and physiotherapy only .It will make such a difference to her . The other lad we are trying to help has been in a wheelchair all his life but after we paid for him to see a specialist in Izmeer they believe they can also operate to give him new knees and so enable him to walk eventually after physio. This will cost in the region of 5/6000 lira so if it works it will be money well spent . Thank you to anyone who has contributed to Embrace in any way to help us help those that really need it .    Mavis and the Team xxx

Mavis, It might be a good idea to let us have your Paypal Account Details, so people who would like to donate directly could do so.  Thanks

I wouldn't publish them on an open forum. I'd suggest that anyone wishing to donate pm's Mavis.

Jacqui  Thanks for your post but we do not have a paypal account as it has never been needed in the past . If you wish to donate though then perhaps it would be better to add it to Keith's competition account. I don't think he would mind as it is all going to pay for the needs of the children .

Wow that really was the last thing I was expecting to read so I am so happy as will the rest of the team be. After Christmas and New Year most people are having to be careful with money so these donations mean a lot to us. We are a very small....but perfectly formed... charity !! .There are seven of us and it is lovely that we are such  a close knit group with no bitching backbiting or ego problems so we get a great deal of pleasure doing what we do to help the children .Thank you for all your support is it so much appreciated.   X  :)

Just a quick note regarding this - I have received several very generous donations for this great cause but bear with me, I have had a very busy couple of days and need to catch up.
