Turkish Supermarket in Birmingham

For anyone wanting Turkish fruit,vegetables,breads, in fact anything Turkish
this place is a must. Open 24/7 all year, it's a two storey store with a round the clock
Bakery doing Baklava's,Simits,breads, a good Butchery section,offlicence selling loads including Efes and Raki's,
Turkish olives,cheeses,honeys,biscuits,cakes,soups,spices,teapots,pots,pans,crockery,gifts,CDs, Ataturk memento's,
frozen fish, ect.
The fruit and veg' displays are as good as anything you will see in Fethiye.

So do I but they let me in.

I call at a shop near there sometimes for a fantastic curried goat with peas and wild rice
and the whole time i'm there the people outside the shop and customers inside are
staring at me and you can see them thinking "what's he doing in our shop,eating our food".
They're all West Indian's and I stroll out with my meal and give them a big smile.

Oh my steve can see what people are thinking..i,m impressed   . Back in the 70,s used to love a night up at santa rosa, and the monte carlo. Saw Aswad and a few other good bands there and buy popular records from Black Wax. The area back then was predominantly black populated, with a smattering of Asian and white people. I was working the local area in 2006/2007,(how good does that sound ),and the area now has mosques and is predominantly populated by asians. I have always enjoyed the variety of food up there, as you say, the rice n peas n curry goat are lovely.  Rusty lee the tv chef used to have a place up there too. There is another great Turkish grocer opposite the entrance that was to New Street station,been there for some time. I love the diversity that Birmingham offers, and missed it so much when we moved to Cheshire.
