I understand from twitter that it's been closed down tonight by the government.

Such a sad day for Turkey when the people are censored in this way.

You can steal millions of euros, take millions more in bribes from companies, but it is the people who tell the World what you are doing who are punished.

So it would seem.  I can't get onto Twitter through my normal account.  Will try tomorrow through proxy server.  I can't see how he can stop that

He can and will.  Maybe not immediately but the technology is there and the bill gave them permission to utilize it.

I just read that he's banning Facebook too. I don't know how true that is or if he can, though I suppose he can.
