It was widely reported on line two weeks ago that if re -elected Erdogan was going to close down Facebook and Twitter, he jumped the gun on Twitter.  He blames the social networking site for the unrest in Turkey and the scurrilous lies they write about his government.  Talk about a dictator, he must be one of the best!!

Apparently opponents have said they are going to release some "shocking" videos via twitter on March 25th that will really upset his traditional /  conservative voters - clearly a tactic to have the maximum impact on the elections.

Yes - good point - worryingly it is also a "we can do anything we want" statement of intent.
