Dreadful, so sad, just watching it on T.V.  I hope they manage to get more of these Miners out alive.

Terrible terrible news, my heart goes out to the men lost and trapped, and to their families.

Mining and coal mining in particular has always been a very high risk industry, but since the Victorian times safety has been an increasing high profile, and deaths and injuries has fallen across the world.  This large number of deaths in another large mining disaster suggests that Turkey is not just behind the rest of the world in terms of safety management, but another example of Turkish rhetoric masking a very different situation.  One where profit is the key driver not the safety and welfare of the men undertaking this dangerous work.

Terrible.
I've been watching a feed on Hurriet Daily News.Three weeks ago all the
opposition parties asked for an inquiry into the dangers at this mine but
the AKP voted it down. Those still trapped are facing high carbon monoxide
levels. So sad.

One of the dead miners was 15 years old.!!!   Victorian times indeed.

This is just dreadful, I can't bear to think of those poor families who have lost or are still waiting for news of their loved ones. It must be terrifying. Pray that more will be brought out alive. God Bless.

PM Erdogan announced that 238 people died. I am afraid it may be more as the time passes :(
