It was, briefly.  However, it was dismissed as an inconsequential irritant and it is hoped that the core product will one day cease production.

So far today the lira has sunk by over a third of a percent against the pound. External Policy Department has been called in to defend itself against criticism from "a certain quarter".

Thank you.  I think we did well also - unfortunately nobody at head office listened to us hence another reduction in interest rates.

Its a pity you didnt recognise this thread for what it is - a tongue in cheek thread about Colwyn and myself having a few beers and a natter in Edinburgh (surprised no-one picked up on the hat  :) )

As regards interest rates, inflation was 8.79% last month (against government target of 5%) and already some Turkish banks have dropped their time deposit rates to under 10%.  Lop off the tax mans cut and...  (no great maths skills needed to work that one out).

Anyway, the main doom and gloom thread is here, feel free to contribute, or not.

How did your application to Charm College go KKOB? Will you be starting in September - or is there still a lot of remedial work to do?

Anyway, it wasn't me, I wasn't there, and if I was there I wasn't nattering, and if I was nattering it was certainly not about Turkish financial matters, and I didn't say anything about The Tall Man. So there. And why is the male Great Spotted Woodpecker lying flat on its back? Cheers!
