Title: Flooding in Kaya
Post by: ovaciksarah on January 05, 2009, 17:30:29 PM
Now we,ve had the huge problem with demolition, my son and I came back from Fethiye today via Kaya, so make sure all was ok , got over the bridge which was overflowing, backed up, against cars beeping, tried to tell them there were floods ahead, but..  Anyway, looked at the cascade of water then thought we,d better move, 2 seconds later it would have been too late, water cascading everywhere, had to drive through over 2 foot of water, thought the poor girl would give up, thank god she didn,t, never been so scared in my life, and I,m an x driving instructor.  Went up hill and watched water encroaching, covered fields in few minutes and houses became castles with moats, all needed a boat. Hope no English houses were involved bad enough for anyone but we have to look after our own first

Do you honestly mean that? If so, it's a repulsive opinion to take with you when you go to live in another country.

There are going to be several villagers flooded out tonight. I've spent part of the afternoon helping to knock down walls surrounding fields to enable the water to drain away.

Just spent most of the morning filling and placing sandbags to stop flood water coming into my house.Helped all the time by both Turkish and English friends
Yes they were helping out their own kind - WE ARE ALL FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS and regardless of race or creed should help each other out.

What a horrible person you sound

Sorry, I apologise profusely to everyone, didn,t mean it the way it sounded, have always helped both Turkish and English when they have a problem, but used to be very naive and help out with money as well if I had it, but even people I thought could trust never pay back, and those have all been Turkish, however still have many Turkish friends.
