had a fabulous afternoon in Kaya today, about 100 of us walked with Louis De Bernieres and stopped at points where he read a few lines from Birds Without Wings in the parts of the village that inspired them.
Very interesting, and a lovely afternoon tea prepared by Izela rounded it all off very nicely.
Lots of money raised by FIG too, who organised the event.

I agree it was a fabulous afternoon and wonderful hosting by Izela (Gunays Garden)as always! Louis is such a lovely down to earth guy with a great sense of humour, I feel very privileged to have spent time in his company and to have come away with a signed copy of Birds Without Wings ;-)
